Illustration Friday - Homage

Wild Thing

I rarely find time to do new illustrations for Illustration Friday anymore, although I usually look at some of the posts from others. I really enjoyed looking at this week's interpretations of the word "homage," so I thought I would repost this drawing from my sketchbook, in homage to the great Maurice Sendak. (click to enlarge)

This is pretty funny. :) I thought it was just a plain scan until I noticed the iPod and jet ski. Admittedly, I may be the only person in the world who hasn't read this book. I'll have to fix that soon!

Very clever, I'm a couple IF's behind myself...already breaking my new years resolution of doing one a week :) I'm originally from St. Louis too, used to work downtown at the ad agency Zipatoni. Cheers!

This made me smile. This was one of my favorite childhood books. Well done.

Thanks for your comment :)
