I entered this in the Soulard Mardi Gras Poster Contest this year. There was 49 entries this year, and some of them were very stiff competition, one of them being this one. Still no announcement of the winner...
Update: the winner of the contest was this design by Corie Hammerstone. I put my design on my Zazzle site if you would like to purchase a shirt for the upcoming festivities.

I vote for this one - I love it.
I like yours better! Love the colors and textures. Hope you win.
Hey there...! It's me, Sharon, from "DreamingAloud...Allowed" - with "that other" poster...
I just saw that you, who I now consider to be my "Redheaded Stranger Friend" left such a nice comment on my blog and kindly linked to my poster. Redheaded and a good heart!!...! Especially since I referred to all other entries as "evil-doers". Clearly I was caught up with my own mud slinging campaign and must apologize.
I've started a rumor that the contest resulted in a huge international art theft as I still haven't heard who won the contest, phones are disconnected and the shop is closed - (but I seriously hope everyone is alright). Many great posters, but out of them all, I was drawn to your the longest. I love your linework! I just now wandered around your blog a bit and love your work. Nice job friend.
I think yours captures the spirit of Mardi Gras better than the winner. I loke the fleur de lis in the corners representing St. Louis, and the sort of distressed background.
Hmmm. You gotta love ambiguous typos. You can either imagine that I meant to say "I like... " or "I love...", but you probably know that I did not intend to say "I loke".
